Heidi Katrina
Total Wrestling Magazine|March 2017

Heidi Katrina is a thoroughly modern wrestler, but her mind set is decidedly old school. James Truepenny caught up with her between Dojo sessions for REINA two continents away from home.

Heidi Katrina

“It’s nice to hear english from English person.” Heidi Katrina begins the call as I rather blearily announce my presence. I will admit that 7am is not my best time of day, but if you need to interview wrestlers who are on the move you have to make those kinds of sacrifices. Katrina has been away from home for, what they call in Australia, a considerable period of time. Something that is integral to her own wrestling philosophy; travel means learning and learning means success. Katrina was introduced to wrestling by her brother. She lapsed in her fandom and then at around 21 years old she got back into it and went to see a live WWE show. “I was in the second row and I thought it was awesome.” She then had the realisation that she needed to be on the other side of the barrier. It had always been a passion of hers so she took destiny into her own hands, the next day she went and found a wrestling school.

Starting her training at LDN’s school now based in Romford, she showed signs of wanting to develop and sought out the best training she could find. “Ever since I stepped into my first school, I always felt I wanted more and tried to make sure I got the attention that I needed for my skills to improve. I always looking to got to the best schools and I researched a lot. I travelled up and down the country for so long to find the best kind of training.”

Bea Priestley

Bea Priestley is bright and cheerful even at 9am on a Monday morning. A long way from what fans expect from her. To them she is a hard nosed bad girl, but on the other end of a Skype call is a very confident young woman who is keen to talk to James Truepenny about her past, her influences and her immediate future.
