You won’t find Colton Thorn blabbing about his West Hollywood-based interior design business all over social media, but his firm has still been steadily building a buzz by word of mouth.
Among his current interior design projects are a Beverly Hills mansion for a 17-year-old burgeoning developer who was seen on Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles (which Thorn himself has appeared on with his former partner, luxury real estate agent Josh Flagg) and a Holmby Hills hideaway where some incredibly thrilling correspondence was recently discovered in the library.
“It was Elizabeth Taylor’s old house,” he reveals. “It was sold to the owner that my client bought it from, and Elizabeth left all the books in the library. I was going through it one day, and I knew that it was Elizabeth’s house, but for some reason it didn’t really hit me. I was going through the library and looking at all these old books, and there were so many that were personally addressed to Elizabeth, talking about something that was going on in her life and how this book would help her in this way or that way. It was great. And there were notes in some of them that I assume were in Elizabeth’s handwriting, it was really fun.”
