Teen Kirstie McDonough grew up seeing terrifying domestic violence.

Her mum, Natalie, was regularly attacked by her partner, Paul Hemming, but Kirstie, now 14, was too frightened to tell her teachers.

‘I used to see violence and hear shouting,’ says Kirstie. ‘It would keep me up at night. I was tired the next day at school.’
