HE’S made a name for himself playing everything from a killing machine in John Wick and a romantic leading man in The Lake House to a goofball in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey and a sci-fi action hero in The Matrix series.
But Keanu Reeves is much, much more than hot Hollywood property. He’s the internet’s boyfriend, the kindest guy in showbiz and the pay-it-forward fellow who even spawned a Twitter fan account called Keanu Doing Things because of his random acts of kindness.
A perfect gentleman, a softie, a down-to-earth dude with goodness flowing through his veins – that’s him.
He’s pretty cute too and we get to feast our eyes afresh when the 57-year-old hunk returns to the big screen on 23 December, reprising his role as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections – his fourth outing in the blockbuster franchise that’s seen him pocket around $250 million (R4 billion).
Carrie-Anne Moss (54) is back as Trinity, Neo’s love interest, and she has nothing but good things to say about teaming up with the movie world’s Mr Nice Guy again.
“Keanu and I have been through this experience together as partners,” she told Entertainment Weekly recently. “The only way I can describe it is like a soul friendship. I’ve watched him grow in the past 20 years. I’m in awe of it.”
And he’s the consummate professional, she adds. “He trains harder, works harder, cares more, always asks more and more questions to understand the depth of what we’re doing.
“And while he was doing all of that for himself, he always had an eye out for me.”
We look at what makes him the planet’s bae.
