This cool kid on the block talks about navigating life, love, and her stellar career on the rise with grace, wit, and a bucket load of sass.
It’s a regular day for Shraddha Kapoor—she’s just wrapped up her shooting schedule for the day, and is heading for a meeting to the other side of the town. “Most of my days look like this. When I’m shooting, there are too many things to do in a day and very few hours to fit all that in,” she reveals, matter-of-factly. Shraddha is slightly shy, holding herself in reserve until we steer in the direction of her ‘other’ interests in life, aside from acting, of course. And that’s when she starts talking intently, from the heart. First, she lets us in on her travel plans, a carefully curated list, which, she emphasises, fuels her creativity wildly. “I’m a travel junkie who doesn’t get to travel as much as I’d like. But I want to explore so many places, I don’t even know where to begin—from Portugal to Spain, Italy to Germany, and Poland... Oh, there are so many more, but that’ll take up the whole day...” The glint in her eyes is evident, as is the child-like enthusiasm as she shares her bucket list with us. Her current favourite cities in the world include Capetown and New York, and closer home, Ladakh. “I’m quite an outdoorsy person, and I prefer mountains over beaches,” she reveals. She goes on to talk about shooting in the North East (during Rock On 2) and how she fell in love with Shillong. This version of Shraddha—informal, chatty, and unguarded—is the one we are familiar with from her movies, but she admits to being on the other end of the spectrum in real life. “I’m an extremely moody person...a bit indecisive too at times,” she says.
