What’s got this generation down and out instead of hot and heavy?
Young adulthood used to play out like a cocaine-fueled music video: think angsty, anxiety-addled teens chugging punch in the kitchen while a group of ravers are in the living room banging heads (or locking lips) over obnoxious ‘80s synthpop. Popping E, sneaking out their parents’ cars, and engaging in premarital sex all served the overarching rebellious Bon Jovi narrative. Our moms and dads, God bless them, knew how to partay, and they did it like there was no tomorrow. But 2017 is a completely different world. Sounds like Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa’s “Young, Wild, and Free” can take several seats, because today’s millennials are hella tame.
