This start-up uses innovative means to bring the arts closer
DEEPALI SINGH
NEW SPIN

When Nivedita Poddar moved back to India after doing her Master’s in Modern and Contemporary Art from London, she was surprised to find that access to the arts was quite limited. Thus, was born Art Fervour, an Instagram account to share the art she was engaging with at the time. Today, their six-member team works towards making current exhibitions, art events, and art history known to people through various innovative means like social media engagement, articles about the art world, and gamification. They also work with leading galleries and museums in India to help their events reach a larger audience. With a 13-city presence in India, Nivedita tells Grazia that international expansion is on the cards as well.

GRAZIA: Did you envision how making art accessible to everyone would take on a whole different dimension with the pandemic?
