Ralph Lauren, the label behind Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s biggest fashion moments, opens its first flagship store in India. Here, we speak to the actor on working with the iconic designer, taking risks, and owning her style.

Think about Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s most memorable looks. What comes to mind? The dramatic trench coat with a cascading train that spawned a series of viral memes; the maroon velvet gown with an ornate jewelled hood that took 250 hours to hand bead; and, of course, the wedding gown with a 75-ft veil, embroidered with her parents’ names, her wedding date, and words like hope, love, and om namah shivay. And they were all created by Ralph Lauren. As the designer opens a flagship store in New Delhi, we speak to Chopra Jonas about fashion, inspiration, and the label’s enduring appeal.
You’ve worn Ralph Lauren to numerous high-profile events: The Met Gala twice, and your wedding. What about the label’s aesthetic appeals to you? And how does wearing their clothes make you feel?
The label Ralph Lauren, for me, embodies ‘timeless chic’. From their lounges around the world to their lifestyle brand, from their home store to their clothing and apparel, they have this regal charm. Their exquisite craftsmanship makes the entire experience so unique, like you’re the most special person wearing this outfit. And what appeals to me the most is their classic legacy, which has been consistent throughout.
