Last year’s mega menswear reshuffle at LVMH is starting to bear fruit – Virgil has brought the streetwear superfans to Vuitton, Kris Van Assche brought sex and swagger to Berluti, while Hedi Slimane brought Hedi Slimane to Celine. But the most exciting development by far has to be what Kim Jones has brought to Dior Men – a tender new mood and a renewed focus on modern tailoring that breaks free of the skinny, rock ‘n’ roll-inflected aesthetic of his predecessors. Instead, Jones dived into the romantic, historic archives of Monsieur Dior and the house’s incredible couture savoir-faire; coming up with a new language to write the next chapter for the storied house.
