Most World War II modellers will be aware of Caproni aircraft, but it may not be widely known that there were several companies in the Caproni group, one of them being Caproni-Vizzola, from Vizzola Ticino, Varese. The Italians invested in a bewildering number of fighter and ground-attack designs, aircraft that never made it beyond prototype stage, or where only a few were built. One such was the F.6M. Caproni-Vizzola started with its F.4 and F.5 fighters, but only a handful of F.5s entered Regia Aeronautica service. The F.6 and the F.6M (M for its all-metal design) were developed from the F.5 by installing a licencebuilt Daimler-Benz DB 605A engine. The F.6M never made it into production, although the prototype eventually got attached to 303 Squadriglia for night fighter duties over Rome and Naples.
If resin modelling perhaps doesn't get much of a look in when it comes to the modelling press, well maybe the press reflects actual modelling! I must admit to owning several such kits, but I've only ever finished a couple, and then only for editorial requirements.
LF Models from the Czech Republic have a big range of subjects, many of them quite exotic, stuff that you'll struggle to find in the styrene world. If the handful of their kits in my stash are anything to go by, you'll do well to make a start with LF as their quality is excellent. Some of their instruction sheets, however, need refinemen
