The first time Fit & Well meets bloggers Fi Darby and Lucy Atkins, aka The Two Blondes, we are in a field in West Sussex, learning how not to get lost!

Having set off from our home for the night – the lovely Ockenden Manor Hotel – we are now being taught how a compass and Ordnance Survey map are our best weapons when it comes to survival in the countryside. This is a totally new experience…

‘I’m not a natural map reader. I used to get lost all the time. But once I learnt the skills properly, I knew I could find my way anywhere,’ explains Fi. ‘Walking gives you a great sense of achievement – especially when you are navigating your own way. It gives you a real “I can do this” feeling.’
