Look & feel
You want hard-working floors with longevity. Consider composite wood, poured concrete, natural stone and porcelain tiles as your go-to materials for patios, balconies, and decks.
Easy does it
Stones and pebbles are an easy flooring solution. They need virtually no maintenance and can withstand any weather conditions. Additionally, they’re nonslip and comfortable underfoot. Before laying your preferred mix, be sure to carefully mark off the area (certain areas will have to be boxed off ). Place a weed-suppressing mat on the ground to ensure that grass and weeds are kept at bay as well as preventing the soil from mixing with the stones. Additional drainage may be required to avoid water build-up under the mat. Once the prep work is done, lay roughly one ton of stones for every 10 square meters. More will be needed if you opt to go ahead without a mat, to compensate for depth lost to stones sinking into the soil.
