The belief to provide learning environment through the built form has seen the inception of Tetrisception- a preschool which makes learning fun again. Designed by Renesa Architecture Design Interiors Studio, the design process of the pre-school involved revamping Maple Bear India preschool to create a built tetrisized environment for enabling and catalysing the nurture of the young minds of pre-school students.
Moving away from standardized, one-size-fits-all academic approach, today’s learning environments re-focus on team-based, interdisciplinary learning. Making sure that the young students learn in such a variety of holistic approach by hands-on experiences, Renesa Studio, through its pre-school ‘Tetrisception’, has proposed a method to be aware of children’s development completely so that their education compliments the natural processes of life.
Questioning the idea of traditionally designed pre-nursery schools where restricted learning hampers the holistic growth of children, Renesa Studio’s design process involved an intense design scheme scan on the required elements which would force a reaction out of a young kid. Eventually coming up with a design mapping of all the games the kids would play in that age group, the process finally reached to a stage where the Tetris game could be clubbed with the architectural skin of the area to interpret the flexible space and use it according to their innate understanding.
