The idyllic 500 acre Estate of Mount Juliet is situated amongst the rolling green hills and woodland of the beautiful Kilkenny landscape.
Mount Juliet has a rich heritage, dating back to The Normans and we would highly recommend a guided tour of the Estate to fully appreciate the fascinating history of this magical place. This five star Estate boasts a choice of accommodation, the two main properties being the relaxed luxury of the 93 bedroom Hunter’s Yard or the Georgian grandeur of the 32 bedroom Manor House where we enjoyed our wonderful stay. This stunning Manor House was built in 1757 and named after The Earl of Carrick’s wife, Lady Juliana who was fondly referred to as ‘Juliet’, giving the grand house its name. Beautifully and sympathetically restored and tastefully decorated throughout, the 18th century Manor House evokes luxury and elegance with a sweeping staircase, stunning plasterwork, frescos, original fireplaces, high ceilings and huge sash windows which take full advantage of the stunning views. Our accommodation for the weekend was one of the large, beautifully appointed Riverview bedrooms with original curved bay windows overlooking the River Nore, the stunning landscape of the estate and the famous Ballylinch Stud.
Guests can enjoy a range of activities from golf, tennis, horse riding, archery, salmon fishing or falconry to relaxing in the spa or simply enjoying the beautiful grounds.
