Callum McGregor’s strike ensured record derby league score for Celts
CALLUM McGregor was delighted to enhance his reputation as Celtic’s man for the big occasion on Sunday after his goal helped the champions crush Rangers and secure seven-in-a-row.
The midfielder buried Odsonne Edouard’s cutback early in the second half to seal a 5-0 rout for the Hoops over their city rivals in Paradise and clinch the title with three games to spare.
It was his fourth goal against the Ibrox side in the past two seasons, and he’s also the only player to score in every competition for Brendan Rodgers’ men in the current campaign, including the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
And the 24-year-old told the View that he was thrilled to find the net on such an unforgettable day as the Bhoys crossed the finishing line in stunning style.
“I was desperate to get a goal,” he said. “It was great work from Odsonne down the side and it was just a case of trying to get into the right position, so I was delighted again to get another goal in this fixture – that’s four now.
“Any time you play against Rangers, you want to impact the game and the best way to do that is to get goals.
