Soul To Sole Hangover Healing
Cosmopolitan Sri Lanka|December 2017

Lankan folks don’t kid around when it comes to end-of-year celebrations, so it’s only natural that some of these December nights will end up with you on a trusty friend’s couch, scrolling through all your drunk texts, suffering from a splitting headache, a queasy stomach and a mouth drier than the Colombo heat (we’ve all been there!).

But fear not, we’re not telling you to hold back on the partying (what, blasphemy is that!?). Instead, Anuradha Withanachchi drops deets on how to handle all your after-the-afterparty (and end of year) problems.

Soul To Sole Hangover Healing

Whether you’re busting a move to a hot baila beat with one of your drunken uncles or grinding the night away with a hottie at an NYE showdown, you’re probably living your best holiday life, letting your hair down and fitting in as many booze sessions (forget any talk of moderation) as possible.

That being said, all those decadent tipples tend to catch up with you faster than your tequila shot. The last thing you need is to make it to NYE, only to curl up on your couch because the previous weeks’ nausea has not subsided. You’re no rookie, so follow these easy, non-queasy steps to party like a pro.

SAY BUH-BYE TO THE NIGHT

Yes, we know: Lying in bed, clutching your head and questioning all your life decisions – including the previous night’s antics, like breaking it down to ‘Single Ladies’ in your stillies (terrible idea!) and treating the gang to numerous rounds of tequila shots, which hit your bank balance hard – may seem like the only option after a night out. But, snap out of this negative rut if you want to progress into the ‘new year, new me’ phase. Negative thoughts and rehashing drunken nights won’t get you anywhere; so, accept the fact that there may have been a few too many drunken slurs, vow to do better next time, forgive yourself and move on. You’re too badass to let a couple of silly slip-ups get in your way.
