Without a doubt, 2020 was a tough year for travellers. You had to be stuck inside the house, and planning trips went out the window. But now that the pandemic numbers are coming down, people have started to venture out again. However, most people have been opting to take road trips over flying or taking the train, for safety purposes. If you are also thinking about taking a road trip, here are some destinations that you can consider.
Kaziranga National Park, Assam
This is one of the most popular destinations in Assam but there is a reason why travellers want to keep going back. It is very peaceful, and taking a safari through the forest is an amazing experience that never gets monotonous. You are bound to see something new and different every time you go through the forest.
The best thing about visiting Kaziranga is that you never have to worry about lodging. There are many different hotels and guest houses in the area where you can book rooms. And, do not worry too much about the budget. You are sure to find a place you like in the budget that you can afford. We suggest you book a week or two in advance to make sure you get the best rates and the rooms of your choice. You can try the Nature Hunt Eco-camp which would come to about ₹3000 per day, or if you do not mind spending extra for a luxurious stay then check out the Borgos Resort or IORA the Reteat.

MUSINGS OF A SOLDIER: TIT-BITS
People often ask me about my life out of uniform. Honestly, I have had no problems. Not so far. Instead, I find it quite refreshing. No routine, no parades, no briefing, no impending operations. Having donned the uniform since the age of thirteen until I hung up my boots last year, could I ever visualize life out of uniform? Not really. But, as I said, the transition has been quite smooth–no hang-overs, no regrets. People have been very positive in their interactions. Government departments have been responsive whenever I have approached for assistance. The genuine respect for the uniform is quite evident and it makes my heart swell with pride. Arunachal, to that extent, is the most nationalistic state in the country, I daresay. It has been kind of a revelation for me to experience the freedom of being a common man in an environment of positivity!
