The tech giant Google recently announced that their leading mobile operating system Android is the biggest mobile operating system in the world.
The CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai in the Google’s I/O developer conference declared that Android has more than 2 Billion monthly active users. 2 Billions account for 28.7 per cent of the world population which is a humongous number. In terms of preference of the operating system for smartphone devices besides Apple and Blackberry, Android is the leading preference for all the companies across the globe. This has undoubtedly contributed to spreading across the use of the Android operating system. Android updates are released every year with an aim to increase the efficiency and productivity of your smartphone. These updates are meant to influence all the aspects of your smartphone, including Google search, mail, battery life and all the essentials of your smartphone.
Since Android has been providing a plethora of services, as well as its established nature, it is practically difficult to envision a new smartphone with an operating system which is not Android. Users across the world are habitual to the services provided by Google. Smartphone manufacturers have been using the Android operating system as the base of their smartphone while adding layers on the OS which would create their own signature aspects on the smartphone for a long time. In fact, there have been instances when the devices are built to boost the usage of the OS and not the other way around which should be the ideal case. Isn’t the OS suppose to boost the device? But what if anyone who wants to launch their smartphone wants to include an operating system which is not Android. It would be practically impossible for anyone to establish their presence in the industry. This is due to multiple factors but the leading factor is the dominance Google has created and the way all of its services are interlinked.
