Reba McEntire Where faith and country collide
Maverick Magazine|February/March 2017

With her headline performance at C2C only a few months away Reba is back with her brand new album SING IT NOW: SONGS OF FAITH AND GOD, Maverick’s Lauren Barnett catches up with her to find out what it takes to become the biggest female hit maker in country music history.

Reba McEntire Where faith and country collide

Her fiery red hair and thick southern accent are the instantly recognisable trademarks of Reba McEntire, the country superstar. However, it is much more than this that has made Reba a country music legend, and one of the most successful female recording artists in history. Known for her ballsy, take no s**t attitude to life, Reba has that confidence that every woman aspires to emulate, and sometimes just putting on one of her many foot stomping country anthems can entice out that confidence inside of you too.

With over 56 million album sales to her name Reba is certainly no stranger to success and is a proud member of the Country Music Hall Of Fame. With 15 American Music Awards, 13 ACM Awards, 9 People’s Choice Awards, 7 CMA Awards and 2 Grammy Awards (among others) Reba’s list of accolades simply goes on and on.

2017 will see the star headline the famous Country 2 Country festival at the O2 arena in London, something no one had predicted when she was the last headliner to be announced. And although it may surprise some of you out there, Reba is officially recognised as the biggest female hit maker in Country music history.

So what is it that has made Reba such a star? I’m sure many fans have their own answer to that question but from my own personal conversation with her I can only assume it is her all -encompassing honesty that has played a big part in her success. Unlike much of the music that is produced today, Reba’s songs have heart and soul, and focus on the things that really matter in life.
