When life is on overload, TV star and therapist Ruby Wax is a great believer in the power of mindfulness, focusing attention and awareness on the present moment.
“When you’re stressed out, focus on a taste, sound or smell in the present,” says Ruby, author of A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled. “I send my attention to my feet and their contact with the floor. As soon as my thoughts go from thoughts to sensation, the red mist drains from my brain and I can think again.”
