UNDER IMMENSE PRESSURE
Just two short years ago, Guy Sebastian seemed to have it all: his gorgeous family, a lucrative judging gig on The Voice Australia and high hopes of a nationwide tour as his long-awaited album T.R.U.T.H. came out.
But fast-forward to now, and the singer has experienced a nightmare week; one that has seen his seemingly perfect world come crashing down.
On May 5, a devastated Guy was forced to cancel two Queensland shows from his resumed T.R.U.T.H. after testing positive for COVID-19.
“I am absolutely gutted!” Guy said. “I’m so sorry to disappoint my fans, and I promise to do something even more special once I’m able to perform as a ‘thank you’ for your patience and understanding.”
Getting COVID was the breaking point for Guy, 40, who came face to face with his former best friend in a Sydney courtroom just hours earlier.
On May 4, Guy testified against his long-term manager Titus Day who pleaded not guilty to 50 charges of embezzlement against the star.
Day, who was entrusted to manage Guy’s income when they worked together from 2013 to 2020, is accused of stealing a staggering $900,000 from him in appearance fees and royalties.
