Retirement sure looks good on Travel Guides favourites Kevin Moloney and Janetta Stones! It’s a gloriously sunny day when New Idea arrives at the couple’s stunning home in Maldon, Victoria. We’re here to get an exclusive look at their lives away from the popular Channel Nine travel series.

As you might expect, no two days are the same for the dynamic duo – although their mornings have something of a routine. Janetta gets up and enjoys a long walk, then she and Kevin download the daily papers and catch up on the news over a cup of tea.

The textbook definition of a green thumb, Kevin, 65, spends a lot of his time maintaining his prized garden. When he’s not pottering around in the flower beds, he can likely be found in his workshop.

As for avid reader Janetta, 71, she is kept busy with exercise classes and volunteering at the local hospital.

“It’s not a bad life,” Kevin admits with a big smile.

The couple’s Travel Guides journey began in October 2015. Janetta was the driving force behind their application, with Kevin having some reservations.

“Don’t be silly. What would they want with us?” he recalls telling Janetta at the time.
