Under the creative charge of KGID, a showflat with loft-like proportions becomes a chic and modern apartment with vibrant contemporary accents.
THE PRIMARY DIRECTIVE FROM DEVELOPER
Tong Eng Group to KGID was to emphasise the capaciousness of the lofty proportions of its Goodwood Grand condominium—a challenge that the interior design firm emphatically rose to. Run by husband-and-wife team Kelvin and Karen Gan, the firm’s penchant for modernity and subtle opulence has earned it several distinctions. The couple was also named among the 50 Most Influential in Singapore Design by Singapore Tatler Homes in 2015 and 2016.
Designed as a showflat unit, the alluring apartment that the dynamic duo produced for the project conveyed how space can be optimised by making the most of its double-volume spaces and discreet storage. “The client desired a modern ambience with a touch of colour and contemporary accents,” recalls Kelvin, who prioritises attention to detail and attentiveness to the clients’ needs throughout every design process. “To achieve this, I decorated this showflat with fun and vibrant colours, while applying geometric shapes to the apartment.”
