The Northern Ireland striker’s goal-den touch had dried up in his two years in the northeast so it was no surprise that he jumped at the chance to join the Dons on loan at the beginning of February.
The 29-year-old already had happy memories of his first spell with the Buckinghamshire club. He netted 22 goals in all competitions in 2014-15 as MK won promotion from League One.
His form hasn’t been too shabby since his return either. He’s notched eight goals – becoming the first MK Dons player in history to score four in one game during a 5-0 win over Swindon last month, while also finishing off a British-record 56-pass move to net against Gillingham in March.
“The club means loads to me – I had a great experience here last time,” he told The FLP. “It was a no-brainer to come back and it’s gone well.
