DAVE CHALLINOR hailed his Hartlepool United squad for the way they’ve negotiated their midweek marathons – as they now face Tuesday nights on the sofa hoping results go their way.
Pools are in the thick of the title race, sitting second in the National League table after yesterday’s big clash with Stockport County finished 1-1.
Challinor’s side have managed to get the points on the board having played more games than all their rivals around them.
And while that makes the run-in hard to predict, the Pools boss hopes a fruitful schedule packed with fixtures can ultimately pay off.
“It’s ridiculously hard to gauge,” Challinor told The NLP. “Sometimes, in normal seasons, you will get anomalies with teams who may not have the best pitch or teams who have a decent cup run and they will have game in hand.
“This season has been completely unique. A lot had been dependent on games that have been called off and how quickly you can rearrange them.
