
SCORES of schools that could be at risk of collapse are being told to be ready to shut in part or in full at short notice until they can be made safe, we can reveal.
Officials are asking schools to have a plan in place before the new term starts for how this could be done, internal Department for Education briefings seen by the Mirror show.
The affected schools were built with "crumbly" reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete, or RAAC, from the 1960s to 1990s with a life expectancy of around 30 years.
