‘Death squad’ fires at Brit team

BRITISH journalists were lucky to escape alive when they came under fire from a Russian “death squad”.

Sky News chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay and camera operator Richie Mockler were both shot in the ambush near Kyiv.

Ramsay was hit in the lower back while Mockler took two rounds in his body armour.

Shocking footage shows the moment their vehicle is attacked as they drive along, then as they crouch behind an open car door. The news crew shouted “Stop, we’re just journalists” as bullets rained down on them.

After a tense stand-offthey escaped by jumping down an embankment and then hiding in a garage.
