The UAE joins the world in celebrating the second annual World NTD Day today. WAM
ABU DHABI
On the occasion of the World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day, (World NTD Day), His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, stressed that the UAE will continue to work with partners to provide support to those affected by the neglected tropical diseases around the world.
Sheikh Mohamed stressed that development and peace cannot be globally achieved without an effective response to disease, especially in poor societies.
His Highness tweeted: “On the International Day of Neglected Tropical Diseases, we remember those around the globe who are facing the dangers of these diseases and are affected by them, and those who are in need for support and help. The UAE will continue working with partners to provide this support.”
On January 30, global civil society advocates, community leaders, global health experts, and policymakers will unite to mark the second annual World NTD Day.
