Character’s return held up by meetings
Ian Rankin says he is “frustrated” at the BBC for delaying the return of Rebus.
The crime-writer said the broadcaster is still to give the go-ahead for the detective’s small screen comeback.
Edinburgh-based Rankin, 60, bought back the rights to the character because he was unhappy with previous shows.
He wants Rebus to return in an extended series but said Beeb executives’ endless meetings have delayed the process.
