Mick price sets new lake record with 46lb 6oz folly beast

A 400-mile round trip from his home in Middlesbrough to the Folly syndicate in Cambridgeshire is something Mick ‘Teabag’ Price has gotten used to in recent years, but rarely has he been rewarded for making such a long journey like he was on his latest trip.
Within two hours of moving swims on the first morning of his session, the 33-year-old hooked into the biggest fish in the lake. A short fight followed, before the considerable dark mirror succumbed to Mick’s net, weighing in at a lake record 46lb 6oz (above). The following morning, Mick capped off his memorable winter session with another mirror, tipping the scales at 36lb 2oz (right).

Around the venues If I told you in Staffordshire there is a fishery with pools within which the average carp is currently over 30lb, you’d be interested, wouldn’t you? What if I told you it’s not a syndicate or a club venue, but is available for all to fish on a day-ticket basis? Still interested? Then check out Baden hall Fishery, where the Quarry is starting to wake up and big fish are on the move.
