The first week of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is behind us. There was some exciting action in the opening week and some unexpected results. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) played three matches in the first week, winning two and losing one. They are the leaders on the points table after week one. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals (RR), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Gujarat Titans (GT) got their campaign off to a winning start. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have won one and lost one each. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost both their games, while Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost their respective opening encounters. On that note, we look at IPL's 2022 team of the first week.
OPENERS: FAF DU PLESSIS (CAPTAIN) AND ISHAN KISHAN (WK)
RCB skipper Faf du Plessis and MI's left-handed batter Ishan Kishan will get the innings underway for the week's team. The South African batter hammered a brilliant 88 off 57 balls against PBKS, smacking three fours and seven sixes. Ishan was superb against DC, blazing his way to an unbeaten 81 off 48 balls. Du Plessis and Ishan can form a dynamic duo.
