Manchester United and England's ALL-TIME TOP-SCORER is apparently on his way out as reports suggest that the talismanic player is headed for the Chinese Super League.
A number of unnamed Chinese clubs are reportedly looking to make Wayne Rooney their most high profile signing ever as the Manchester United captain seems to have achieved everything there is after he recently broke the club’s goal-scoring record with his 250th strike in the 1-1 draw at Stoke City. This is in stark contrast to recent times when he averred that he still had a lot to offer to Manchester United. After the Stoke game, Rooney told Sky Sports after receiving the Football Writers’ Association’s Tribute Award for his services to English football: “I’m committed. I have been at the club for a long time. Football is a strange game. Anything can happen and things change very quickly, but I am happy at Manchester United.
“Of course, as I have said before, I want to play more games. I am in a happy place, a good moment personally, so I think I have a year, with an option year to go. We will see what happens and what happens after that.”
However, tabloids in the UK claim their sources indicate the Englishman will earn in the ballpark of a GBP 1 million per week. The mind-numbing deal could, apparently, reach a record-breaking GBP 140 million with Jose Mourinho and Manchester United sanctioning the move.
