THE 12TH DIMENSION: Giants among wide receivers
The Giant Insider|December 7, 2020
I was born on November 19, 1974, exactly four years (to the day!) before Giants fans would have to forever live with the phrase “The Miracle of the Meadowlands.” My birth date is also just under two years after Mara Tech broke ground on Giants Stadium (November 30, 1972). I began watching the Giants, religiously, in 1983 and have never missed a game since. I was the annoying kid at family parties who would argue with adults that Rob Carpenter was better than John Riggins or that Earnest Gray was a superior talent to Art Monk.

THE 12TH DIMENSION: Giants among wide receivers

If I had to rank my knowledge of Giants history with the general population, I’d say I’m in the 98 to 99 percentiles. I can go toe-to-toe with just about anyone regarding anything Big Blue. My interest (obsession) in Giants history likely began with the famous 1987 VHS tape “Giants Among Men.” Not only did I love the recap of the greatest season in Giants history, but that tape delved into the great Giants teams of the ‘50s and ‘60s. It was then that I began to understand what the names Conerly, Huff, Tittle, Shofner, Gifford, Robustelli…. I could really go on and on…. meant to this fan base. I watched “Giants Among Men” so often that I began to memorize not only Pat Summerall’s narration, but the clips of Bill Parcells, LT, George Martin, and even opposing coaches. I would come home from school in seventh and eighth grade and pop that VHS tape into the VCR almost every single day.
