VERDICT
A smart-looking all-in-one with a decent screen, but the slow processor lets it down
IT MIGHT FALL under the budget-minded Inspiron brand, but looking at the AIO 5475 you couldn’t tell, as this is a truly attractive all-in-one. A revamp of the old Inspiron 500 all-in-one series, Dell has done a fantastic job, giving the new model an incredible facelift.
Gone are the massive bezels of the old series, replaced by an edge-to-edge Infinity screen with razor-thin bezels. It’s a similar display technology as used on the gorgeous XPS 13 laptop. With such small bezels, the PC’s’s Full HD 24in display doesn’t look so imposing, and the all-in-one doesn’t take up much room on a desk.
VERY ARTICULATE
Dell has used a fully articulated stand for the AIO 5475, which means that the screen can sit at pretty much any angle, from straight up to almost flat on the desk. This makes it easy to position the screen so that it’s comfortable, but has the added advantage that you can bring the touchscreen closer to you should you want to use it.
It’s a decent screen, too. We measured it as capable of producing 91.4% of the sRGB colour gamut, with a delta-E of 1.45 showing that colours are accurate. The screen is a little dim, though, and the contrast ratio of 823:1 means that when you dial the brightness up to see highlights, blacks tend to become a little grey.
