Polo Gateway To The Past
Discover India|April 2018

The name Polo is derived from ‘Pol,’ the Marwari term for ‘gate.’ And Polo does, indeed, open the gates to the past. Fairly neglected for many decades, this corner of Gujarat, situated 150 km from Ahmedabad, has been rediscovered in recent times and is now drawing history enthusiasts and adventure seekers from everywhere.

Polo Gateway To The Past

This ancient city was once the gateway to Rajasthan and served as a place of respite and seclusion for the rulers of the region. It still has an air of mystery about it. In the forest, you will also find adivasi settlements, the indigenous people demonstrating how to exist in harmony with nature as they go about their day-today lives.
