COME ON IN!
ABOUT ME I’m Jannine Newman, a photographer, fashion and interior designer, and I live here with my husband Steve, a London tour guide, twins Bertie and Aubrey, 21, dog Basil, and cat Buttercup.
OUR HOME A late-Victorian four-bed terrace in Stoke Newington. We bought it in December 2013.
WHEN WE MOVED IN The previous owner had rented out rooms so it didn’t feel like one home, and the whole place was dilapidated and in need of major renovation.
AND NOW I’ve used my relaxed design approach and love for mid-century furniture to transform it into a family home that I can’t see us ever moving from.
STYLE TIP I’m all about space and light, and creating a practical but stylish look throughout my home.
We started off living in this area of north London many years ago but moved down to south London as we could get more for our money there,’ says Jannine. ‘It was lovely, but ultimately a bit quiet for us. On one of our trips back north of the river to see friends, it dawned on us how much we missed our home turf, so we started scouring the market.
