Woman’s royal insider, Duncan Larcombe, says the Duke of Sussex is stuck between his old and new life
‘Friends barely recognise Harry these days'

It’s been a roller-coaster ride for the Royal Family in recent months, not least with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moving to California. But is Harry happy with how things have turned out? I’m told that former friends fear he is stuck ‘between a rock and a hard place’ with clear signs that his bid for freedom may be backfiring. Less than 18 months after he quit Britain to start a new life with the Duchess of Sussex, the once fun-loving royal seems a shadow of his former self, according to those who knew Harry in his military days.

They fear Harry’s so-called ‘truth bombs’ slamming the Royal Family may have cut him off from the very people who have supported him throughout his life – something that sensitive Harry would struggle with.

Although the rift with the Duke of Cambridge shows signs of thawing after the brothers unveiled their mother’s statue, Harry, I understand, remains in a war of words with his father.

He is unlikely to have spoken to Prince Charles since he slammed his parenting skills in a podcast watched around the world, and his quick exit from the country following the unveiling will have left little time for peace talks.
