Many people start a new year with the goal to lose some weight, and that’s exactly what Motsi Mabuse did at the beginning of 2021, in order to shape up ahead of her 40th birthday – which she celebrated on 11 April. The bubbly Strictly judge, who lives in Germany, has been working with WW (Weight Watchers Reimagined) since January, and has overhauled her lifestyle in a bid to feel better physically and mentally.
Speaking exclusively to Woman, she also tells us how she tries to be a great role model for her two-year-old daughter (whose name she has kept private) with husband Evgenij Voznyuk, and the advice she wants to pass down to her.
You recently turned 40 – happy birthday! How did you celebrate?
I turned 40 on a television show in Germany, so they did a whole surprise with a cake. Everybody was wishing me happy birthday – everyone had been tested [for COVID] – but I started crying because I was thinking of my family and how I wasn’t with them. But I was with my husband and he took great care of me. He organised a really sweet surprise with two days of spa-like wellness at home. It was just perfect.
