Graham Norton tells us who he really wants on the show and his plans for when it’s all over.
Friday nights are worth staying in for once again as Britain’s king of chat returns to welcome another parade of famous faces to his iconic sofa. when Woman chatted with Graham over coffee, he was as funny and frank as ever, telling us all about his second novel, how he feels about kiss-and-tells, and why he won’t have a hair transplant...
‘If someone told me 20 years ago I’d still be hosting a chat show and still be genuinely excited about it, I’d have said they were crazy. My team and I started back in the summer of 1998! What keeps me coming back is the fact that no matter how well you prepare, there’s a spark that happens on the night that you can’t predict.’
‘I don’t get starstruck but it’s true that some guests have a ‘star voltage’ you don’t get over – Tom Hanks or will Smith, for example. It sounds ridiculous, but it’s true. It’s an indefinable thing when they’re in the same room as you. I feel it and the audience does, too.’
