Are you struggling to get your children to eat healthy? There is a good chance that children will eat something that they have lent a hand in preparing.

During the school holidays, engage your children in an activity that is educative and interesting. Involve them in the whole process, right from choosing the veggies and fruits to cleaning, washing, freezing and blending, depending on their age.

Smoothies are the rage and for good reason. This milkshake-like drink is easy and quick to make, provides an energy fix and boosts fruit and vegetable intake for picky eaters.

Smoothies are packed with antioxidants, fibre, vitamins and calcium depending on what you put in them.

So, bring on the smoothies which are fresh, fun and yum.

Be creative

Have a different flavour every day. Let the children decide what comes when.

It could be strawberries one day, banana or a mango another day. How about a mix of flavours? For convenience, chop and freeze fruits in advance and pack in zipped bags for easy usage.
