And what else that we already knew?

Mommy, Does Google Uncle Say I Can Use the Potty?

Get a load of this—(I can’t believe I am actually saying this, but that’s another matter) I am saying it because I’m a mom twice over, so I should know, huh ? Childbirth is one of the most amazing miracles and truly a defining moment in a woman’s life—in an instant, her existence changes forever and takes on a whole new meaning. No words can adequately describe, or even capture the essence of that feeling of joy and fulfilment that a woman experiences when she holds her newborn in her arms for the first time. It is precisely the moment when there begins a lifelong bond between mother and child—a bond that both cherish, a bond like no other. It is the beginning of a reciprocal interaction which helps the baby learn how to cope with the overwhelming world outside the mother’s womb.

Wow! Doesn’t that give every new mom a sweet, warm, fuzzy feeling? It does, it does! Period. Now for some ground realities. This “bundle of joy” (ahem, that’s the politically correct thing to call it) will soon turn you into a sleep deprived, hair-tearing, worn-out dumbass. But you will take it in your stride because we women always have, and we always will, because moms are putty in their babies’ hands.

RETAINING SANITY

But you know what? I am so-o-o-o grateful to my stars that I became a mom about two decades back because probably that is why I have managed to retain some of my sanity! Had I been a new-age mom, I don’t know if I could’ve coped, because parenting has become exponentially more difficult and utterly obfuscating in the last 10 years. Why? Because of the overwhelming information overload of the mommy/baby industry of today, what else?
