WiFi An Invisible Killer

In the beginning internet had limited use but nowadays internet has unlimited applications. Now you can surf internet virtually from anywhere with WiFi. It has become more or less a necessity both at home and outside due to convenience it offers. But overuse of WiFi is not good, particularly for children. It has some significant side effects on our brain and quality of sleep.

What is WiFi?: Nowadays most of the cell phones are smartphones with wireless connectivity. Wireless Fidelity or WiFi is a registered trademark of WiFi Alliance, an international organisation founded in 1999. It is a nonprofit association formed to facilitate interoperability of wireless local area network devices (WLAN) and wireless access points (WAP). It uses wireless radio frequency or microwave technology to transmit data through air.

Earlier it was thought that the radiofrequency radiation of WiFi devices are non-ionising meaning thereby they don’t have enough energy to break the molecular bond and there is no heating effect. Subsequent studies revealed that WiFi radiation is not harmless.
