Located in MP's quiet township of Multai, the café is quite near a school & college campus. It thus caters to a student crowd who like the café culture and a piece of city life.
The owner, Shivam Agarwal, is a young entrepreneur who believes in furnishing the needs of the young in the best & innovative way. The team from RAY Design Studio got inspired by the trend of cargotecture. It is both unconventional & rustic. The design elements & shipping containers got picked.
There was a playful process of planning the space with exploration & experimentation of the two industrial-grade 8x40 feet high containers. The site is in the southwest corner. The café thus is noticeable from the road junction. With the low plinth on the ground floor, one of the container sides is open in an L shape. You will find an ice cream parlour, a kitchen and a cash counter with small seating. The upper container is tilted 22 degrees to the north and has the cantilever rising six meters.
