The landscape of the Chordia home in the tony Koregoan Park in Pune is a sight to behold and appreciate. Landscape designer Shobha Bhopatkar tells us how the green outdoor space was

When there is a thoughtfully designed landscape, it only compliments the building more positively. Exterior & interior merge in a fluid manner. Landscaping is about arranging nature's raw materials with non-living elements. It provides site-specific solutions and allows the project's exterior spaces to bloom.

The Chordia home is in the prestigious cosmopolitan localities of Pune, Koregaon Park. There are quite a few green spaces in this neighbourhood with parks. The clients are quite spiritual and have one specific requirement. They wanted the 'Swamiji Statue' placed in the centre of the well-designed landscaped garden. It had to be the property's focal point. So, Bhopatkar placed the statue at the landscape's highest point.

She mentions, "The client's brief was that when they open the drapes of any room facing Swamiji, they want to see the statue without any obstruction and the line of vision should not be interrupted by anything. Therefore, it is placed such that it follows a clean line of sight when seen from any room, entrance gate and landscaped garden."
