Skoda has finally unveiled its player in the very competitive and crowded sub-4m SUV segment at a global premiere event in Mumbai. The Kylaq, as it is called after a poll in India was introduced to the gathered media through a Rohit Shetty film that is available for everyone to view on OTT platforms.
The SUV itself is the first to take forward Skoda’s global design philosophy for cars made in India and features a shiny black front grille with vertical ribs, an all new Skoda wordmark, straight LED DRLs and LED headlamps, a typical Skoda crystalline LED tail lamp and new 17in dual tone alloys. Despite the new design language the Kylaq does come across as the Kushaq’s younger sibling though from some angles it looks like its bigger sibling.
After all the Kylaq at just under 4m is only slightly shorter than the Kushaq, has a wheelbase that is just 85mm shorter than that of its elder sibling and is actually taller and wider.
