AMG shuts door on V8 return for C63

RECENT REPORTS FROM Germany suggested that Mercedes-AMG was considering adapting its new C63 super-saloon to take the GT's 4.0-litre V8, in response to slow sales of the four-cylinder PHEV launched earlier this year.

The launch of a new C63 E Performance, pairing the V8 with an electric motor on the rear axle, was rumoured to be pencilled in for 2026.
