The Classic Touring Challenge opened proceedings and, despite having qualified on the third row of the grid, the Ford Mustang of John Spiers and Nigel Greensall overcame Max and Andrew Banks (Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA) to win by just 1.065 secs, ahead of the chasing pack of three more GTAS.
In the first The Gentlemen Challenge race, early contender Luc-Pierre Verquin fell to fourth in his ListerChevrolet 'Knobbly' after the pitstops, but came through to take third, by then more than 10 secs adrift of the lead. Out in front, Spiers claimed his second victory in as many races, this time from the driving seat of a ListerCostin, denying Serge Kriknoff (Lotus Eleven) by just 0.792 secs.
