What's stopping COMAC C919 from flying overseas?

The aircraft recently achieved a historic milestone by executing its inaugural commercial flight, marking the advent of a Chinese-produced large passenger jet and pitting it directly against Boeing's 737 and Airbus's A320.

As of now, the aircraft exclusively operates on domestic routes, ferrying passengers between Shanghai and Beijing.

This restraint is grounded in several significant considerations. Primarily, COMAC is prioritising its domestic market and adjusting to its demand. Presently, its manufacturing capabilities are not sufficiently robust to meet the entirety of domestic aircraft and flight requirements, let alone contend internationally with manufacturing titans like Boeing and Airbus.
