Enveloped in each other’s arms with the sparkling Mediterranean stretching out behind them, Victoria – who played Julie Andrews alongside an all-star cast in the critically acclaimed Disney film Saving Mr Banks – and her new husband, enjoyed their very own slice of la dolce vita on their spectacular wedding day in southern Italy, where the groom was born.
“It was a very personal ceremony centred around the story of how we met and how in love we are,” Victoria, 41, tells HELLO! as the couple exclusively share their wedding album and memories of the day.
“It was a very emotional moment to see all my favourite people come together so close to where I grew up,” adds Fabrizio, 40, who works as a private chef for Los Angeles-based British singer Seal. Victoria’s career took her in 2012 from the UK to LA, where she soon found herself co-starring with Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson and Colin Farrell.
DREAMS COME TRUE
Held at the magnificent Palazzo del Capo on the coast of Calabria – truly a fairytale setting – their wedding day was the perfect ode to the couple’s love story.
A weekend of celebrations was the prelude to the big day on Monday 22 May. A bridal shower was followed by welcome drinks for the couple’s 75 guests, many of whom had flown in from around the world, and a rehearsal dinner on the eve of the wedding.
The couple woke on their special day in the hotel’s charming bridal suite, in a 12th-century tower. Victoria donned the first piece of her bridal outfit – her exquisite tiara of marquise-cut diamonds and pearls – before joining mum Linda and the bridesmaids, flower girls and page boy to get dressed.
