She was just a teen when her dreams started to come true in the early ’80s. The summer after she graduated from high school in Alabama, Courteney Cox headed to NYC and found work as a model. That led to acting and, more than a decade later, a part on one of the most successful sitcoms in television history, Friends. Now, 40 years after she started, Courteney was just awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “I never thought that when I was 18 it would lead to a career that I love and have really learned so much [do ing],” she gushed to Variety in February. “I just kept doing things that led me to something else, and I just kept learning and learning and learning.”
But amid all those lessons, Courteney faced devastating pain. There was heartache — a highprofile breakup with actor Michael Keaton, 71, in the ’90s followed by a divorce from actor David Arquette, 51, in 2012. She endured seven miscarriages before finally welcoming her only child, daughter Coco Arquette, 18. A career lull began after her work on the show Cougar Town, which wrapped in 2015, and criticism about her changing looks presented new challenges. “She admits to making many mistakes — the facial fillers and Botox were probably her biggest — but she says she has very few regrets,” shares an insider. Today at 58, “Courteney’s on cloud nine. She feels like she’s living her best life.” Courteney herself recently confirmed she’s thriving on the cusp of turning 60. “The place I am in right now,” she said in February, “is the happiest I’ve ever been.”
